Seattle, Washington have plenty to do even after the holiday fever has died down; so January promises to be packed with some great events for you to attend. From American history, to arts, boats and even the craft of beer, there are many events to keep you occupied this January. Hitch a Ride Into Railroad History

The Pacific Science Center in Seattle will host a Model Railroad Show between January 16-18, 2016. Get a chance to see lots of beautiful model train layouts and displays, and travel into a bygone era when railroad travel was the primary way to travel the country. To up the ante, there is a kid sized train for the young ones to enjoy plus loads of activities to get involved.

Celebrate Martin Luther King Jr.’s Legacy

Washington and Seattle have a host of events lined up all through January, leading up to MLK Day on January 18, 2016. Join in to celebrate his legacy, culminating in the Martin Luther King Jr. Rally and March. There will be speeches as well as workshops around the event. Earlier in the day you can also attend the special commemorative breakfast complete with a gospel choir to set the mood.

Let the Children’s Film Festival of Seattle Capture Your Imagination

If you’re in Seattle this month, make time to catch a few screenings of the festival at the Northwest Film Forum from January 21-31, 2016. Films are aimed at children between 3 and 12 years of age and this is one of those events that includes some of the best work from around the world.

Raise a Toast at the Belgianfest

The German breweries may be famous courtesy Oktoberfest, but in Seattle, everyone knows the Belgians have it down to an art. At the Belgianfest, located at the Fisher Pavilion this January 30, 2016.  You have the opportunity to sample hundreds of Washington brewed beers created with Belgian yeast – the best of both worlds!

Set Sail for the Seattle Boat Show

Anyone with even a passing interest in water and boats should mark the Seattle Boat Show on their calendar starting January 29, 2016. Several boats are harbored at South Lake Union, Washington while many are on displays at the venue in CenturyLink Field.
